Post-Pandemic Operations in Sight for Only Some CEOs
As COVID approaches its third calendar year, CEOs are split on when they anticipate their businesses will return to pre-pandemic operations or something close to it. From a recent poll of a select group of business executives attending The CEO Forum Group’s September 2021 Transformative CEO Summit, some don’t expect their business to be operating close to pre-pandemic levels until at least 2023 (23%), others say it never will return (23%), while others see a return happening by the end of this year or in the first half of 2022 (36%). The lack of consensus shows the impact that temporary disruptions such as supply chain issues, and fundamental changes like a transition to remote work, are having on organizations’ timelines for steps ranging from recovery to renewal or reinvention.
