Corporate Execs Say They Feel Responsibility to Lead Outside of Boardroom
As companies and brands increasingly enter conversations around societal issues – willingly or otherwise – it is not surprising to learn that executives feel responsibility to be leaders beyond the boardroom. In a recent poll of CEO Forum members, nearly two in three executives said they feel a responsibility to be a society leader in at least some instances, with 23% saying they feel a ‘great deal’ of responsibility. Whether these same executives feel prepared to assume this role is another question, but it’s clear that corporate leaders’ influence within society is growing, not shrinking.
